Emanuel Swedenborg伊曼紐·斯威登,(1688年1月29日1772年3月29日),又譯作史威登堡瑞典科學家、神秘主義者、哲學家和神學家。

晚年主要研究神學。他將巨大的精力用於解釋《聖經》,並敘述他在幻覺中對神靈和天使世界的所見所聞。Heaven and Hell is the common English title of a book written by mystic Emanuel Swedenborg in Latin, published in 1758.

This book is a detailed description of the afterlife where people go after the death of the physical body. It deals with God, heaven, hell, angels, spirits, and devils, which the author claimed to have witnessed first hand

奎恩邁克爾D. Michael Quinn在他的書中《早期摩門教和魔術的世界觀》提出,Emanuel Swedenborg伊曼紐·斯威登堡1758的《天堂與地獄》影響了小斯密約瑟在創作教義和聖約第76章有關摩門教的來世觀。D. Michael Quinn suggests in his book Early Mormonism and the Magic World View that Heaven and Hell influenced Joseph Smith, Jr. in the creation of the Mormon view of the afterlife detailed in Doctrine and Covenants Section 76.

However, many of the similarities are rooted in Biblical language and by interpreting Biblical texts. For example, the general view of three Heavens in the resurrection appears to have its root from the writings attributed to the apostle Paul found in the New Testament, 1 Cor 15:40–42:

“There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory. So also is the resurrection of the dead."

Allegorically, Swedenborg likens both the nature of each heaven as well as the illumination in the sky of each heaven to the sun, moon, and stars (Heaven and Hell 119). He states that the sun of the celestial heaven and the moon of the spiritual kingdom is the Lord (Heaven and Hell 118). In Mormonism‘s view of I Cor 14:40–42, the resurrected bodies of those in three degrees of glory (celestial, terrestrial, and telestial heavens) are likened to the sun, moon, and stars.

Other historians, including Richard Bushman, propose that the similarities between the revelations of Smith and Swedenborg are due to the influence of Paul’s writing on both of them. (Bushman, Richard. 2005. Joseph Smith: Rough Stone Rolling. p. 199.)

我不認為有神–真正實在,活生生的神–的存在,但是我確定有”虛擬想像的神”的存在.這個人造虛擬的上帝本身既不會吃,喝,說話,玩,甚至回答祈禱。因為上帝只是人類想像虛構的,只虛擬地存在於信徒的大腦/心智中.

在宇宙中一個有真正實體的,活生生的神從未存在,但一個虛擬想像的神永遠存在於人類信徒的大腦/心智中,就好像一個虛擬想像的聖誕老人存在於小孩的大腦/心智中。

  • 除了小孩以外沒有人會相信 聖誕老人的存在;
  • 除了基督徒以外沒有人會相信 耶穌基督的神性,奇蹟及復活的真實存在性;
  • 除了摩爾門教徒(Mormon)以外沒有人會相信 斯密約瑟所謂第一次異象的神奇故事(根據約瑟·斯密1838年的說法,天父和聖子耶穌基督向他顯現,並要他在地上重新建立基督的教會)的真實存在性;
